Bell Equine Veterinary Clinic - Emergency Contact Information
Bell Equine Emergency Contact Information
The reception team is always available to help you during office hours on 01622 813700.
If you have an emergency at any other time, please still call the office on the usual number 01622 813700.
You will then be given 2 options:
Press 1 to have your call diverted directly to our pager service who will contact the duty vet for you.
Press 2 to leave a non-urgent message, which our receptionists will respond to during working hours the following day.
Please stay by the phone and one of our vets will ring you back within 10 minutes. Try to keep the line clear until we contact you. If the vet does not call you within 10 minutes, please call 01622 813700 again and the pager service will contact the vet again.
As we are a specialist referral hospital, there is always someone on site. If you are coming directly to the hospital, please ring first as we may be dealing with other emergency cases. The hospital electric security gates are closed from 8pm to 6am and you will need to ring the gate phone (07890 568564) to gain entrance.
For general enquiries and all visits, ring 01622 813700
For hospital appointments and referrals, contact Anna Greensmith on 01622 813700 selecting option 2 for the hospital.
For account queries, contact 01622 813700 selecting option 3 for accounts or contact Jenny Forbes on 01622 816036
As Covid 19 makes the headlines again with the number of cases rising, we wanted to reassure people we are doing everything possible to protect both you and our teams, whilst continuing to give you and your horse our very best service possible.
We are asking all clients attending both appointments at the hospital and when we visit your yard to wear a mask and to adhere to the 2m social distancing where possible. Clients who have booked a visit by one of our ambulatory team will receive a text to remind them to keep to 1 person per horse, to open gates, have passports ready and to maintain to social distancing where safe to do so.
Anyone attending appointments at the hospital, we have reception set up safely but ask you to make sure to keep to ‘one in, one out’, to wear masks and use the hand sanitiser available on arrival. I’m afraid we are unable to invite you into the hospital or barns to observe examinations or visit in-patients at this time, but for certain procedures, such as lameness work ups, we are happy for one person per horse to observe any outdoor investigations, as long as they are wearing a mask and adhere to social distancing. For any procedures we need to take your horse inside to do (such as ultrasound scans or nerve blocks), we will ask if you could return to your car / lorry while we carry out the procedure. We shall then advise you when we are ready to continue investigations outside. If you would prefer to drop your horse off to the clinic for the day for an investigation, we are very happy to accommodate this and we will keep in close contact with you via telephone while we undertake the investigations.
We are doing our absolutely best to minimise any disruption, but we have already had team members off at short notice, either self-isolating or awaiting Covid tests for their children. We will do everything possible not to re-arrange appointments, but sadly there may be some circumstances where there will be no other option. Therefore, please bear with us and if we do have to re-arrange, we will try to reschedule as soon as possible.
Thank you to all our clients for being understanding at this difficult time. Please stay safe and well and if you have any concerns with your horse, but are unsure if you need a visit from a vet, do not hesitate to contact the office and one of our vets would be happy to speak to you.
