Artificial Insemination Fees

ARTICIAL INSEMINATION (AI) fees for 2008

All mares undergoing artificial insemination must have a negative CEM (contagious equine metritis) swab and a negative EVA (equine viral arteritis) blood serology result obtained during 2007 before the season that she is intended to be inseminated.

Package fees include the cost of all veterinary examinations and ultrasound scans performed during the mare’s oestrus period, and a 15 day pregnancy scan (must be performed at the clinic), but exclude the cost of drugs and subsequent ultrasound scans or visit fees if the procedure is not performed at the clinic.

These fees exclude the cost of any drugs required in the management of the mare or her cycle/insemination. The cost of drugs required to manipulate the mare’s cycle and to treat infection, etc, may be significant and could add up to £100 or more to the “package” price.
