Kent Police Equestrian Volunteers

Kent police are recruiting for volunteers as part of a new Community Policing initiative. In particular they are looking for horse owners who would be willing to sign up as volunteers to become eyes and ears across rural land that would not normally be accessible.

One of the biggest benefits to horse owners is the backing of the initiative by the Nation Farmers Union, whom will be opening up swathes of land to riders who sign up to the scheme. Training is provided and much of the role can be done during your day to day activities out and about with your horse and to fit in with any other commitments.

For more information, go to the Kent Police website.

There is a ‘Volunteers in Policing’ meeting being held on 13th February 2019 at the Kent Police College in Maidstone. There will be the chance to speak to staff and the recruitment team, along with more information on the new roles. Please see the Kent Police website which has details on the February meeting and where you can register your interest. There will be further meetings in the future which we shall advertise when we are advised of the dates.

If you would like to contact someone from Kent Police to discuss the role further, please email Anna Greensmith at BELL who can pass on a contact email for Kent Police.
