We offer placements for veterinary students, who wish to come here as part of their extra-mural studies. We have particular links with some of the veterinary colleges, who send their students to us on a regular basis, however we will consider applications from all veterinary students, who have a specific interest in equine practice.
For final year students there is the option to apply for an externship. These positions are highly sought after and allow veterinary students to live in and study our equine cases at the hospital. Many vet students who are interested in an internship will apply to do this, so they fully understand the future role that they are considering.
We also offer a limited number of work experience placements of one-week duration to school and college students with a keen interest in equine and veterinary matters. This can be arranged independently, or through your educational institution. This is a long-standing tradition and we take pride in starting off many veterinary careers this way.
